Again, I just love your site. It is my ‘go-to.’

I want to make every one of the dressings. Seriously! They sound wonderful.

    Two questions:

Could any of these be made in November, stored outside the refrigerator, and used for Christmas gifts in a basket for family and friends???

Do you have a link for any ‘make ahead food Christmas/hostess gifts’ from you?

    Thanking you in advance,
    Donna

Hi Donna! Thanks so much for stopping by and for the sweet compliment. I have never made homemade dressings to keep…I just make them fresh, so I’m not sure how that would work. Sorry about that. I do have plans to start making jams, jellies, preserves and pickles this summer…so very soon I hope to have those posted for you to try. I do have a few jam recipes on the blog…but I’ve never made those to keep either…just in the fridge for a week or so… Other than that, all I can think of right now as far as “make ahead” presents on my site would be bath salts/sugar scrubs:

      http://chindeep.com/2011/12/27/penelopes-rosemary-mint-sugar-salt-scrub/

or apple butter that you can make ahead and freeze:

      http://chindeep.com/2012/10/30/crockpot-apple-butter/

      massage oil:

      http://chindeep.com/2012/02/10/rose-ylang-ylang-massage-oil/

and…several knitting/crocheting projects if you’re interested in those.

Hi. Do you have a recipe for really good Fat-Free Raspberry Vinaigrette? Thanks! :D

  12. July 26, 2013 at 5:46 pm

Once refrigerated how long will they last

    • Melissa
      July 27, 2013 at 12:17 am

Hi Mary, Most of these recipes specify how long they will last (within each recipe post.) A good rule for homemade recipes…5 to 7 days for creamy dressings, 10 to 14 days for oil based recipes.

I didnt look at all the recipes, but they all look so amazing!!

I just wanted to give you one of my homemade dressing recipe I recieved from my parents cuban friends. It is so simple and so easy!

There are no specific measurements, I just wing it and taste test it. I make the dressing in the bottom of the bowl where I will put the salad and then toss it together.

    lime juice
    Olive oil
    Garlic clove
    Grated Parmesan
    Ground pepper
    Salt

It is the best dressing I have ever made! I hope you try it! You will never want to eat salad any other way.

I can not wait to try numerous dressings you have listed. My big decision will be which one first. LOL! Thank you so much for posting these. It must of took you quite a while between the recipe itself and the beautiful photos displaying them.

    Best wishes Jo from Virginia

PS – The only store brought dressing that I love is Marie’s Blue Cheese Vinaigrette I am going to try adding some blue cheese chunks to one of your vinaigrette dressings and see if I can develop it unless you already have one not posted?

    • Melissa
      May 15, 2014 at 12:35 pm

Hi Jo! I’m so pleased you like the collection :) They’re all yummy and pretty darn healthy too! I have a blue cheese dressing recipe in the collection (it’s the 9th one from the bottom and my cat is “photo bombing” the shot. LOL!) The blue cheese dressing is especially chunky and creamy, just the way I like it… and it’s awesome with the Lowell Inn House Dressing (if you enjoy the combination of French and Bleu.) XOXO ~M

Hows about I come to your house and eat? Okay, okay, just joshin’ with ya, hun. Honestly, I don’t know where to start with making all of these de-LISH dressings. My thinking is wouldn’t these make great Christmas gifts?

Make um, wrap um up in pretty jars and VIOLA! My friends and sisters would crown me Martha Stewart…ah, if you added a few pounds. Thank you, Ms M…you rock!
