Our annual jaunt to the Maiden Rock Apple Orchard, Winery & Cidery… apples, apples and more apples!… Eve’s Pudding, slow cooker apple cobbler, Swedish sour cream apple pie, apple bread, scalloped apple chicken, country apple brownies , homemade applesauce and apple butter for our morning tea and toast, and all sorts of spice-laden, apple-y recipes… lunches and dinners ‘al fresco’ at our favorite outdoor cafes and pubs, complete with a panoramic view of the Mississippi river… grand old steamboats arriving, docking in the Mississippi at Levee park, calliopes singing their jolly tunes just prior to departure, tourists bustling along the crowded streets of our pretty Red Wing… an impromptu lakeside picnic in Pepin Wisconsin with our girls… a lovely, warming afternoon tea at my dear friend Bonnie’s…
