This amazing dessert “salad” has been featured at gatherings here in the Midwest for as long as I can remember. Everyone seems to make it a little differently, but it’s always creamy, sweet, crunchy, and delicious!

serves 6 to 8

1 big Red Delicious apple, unpeeled, cored, and chopped (save some for garnish)

1 big Granny Smith apple, unpeeled, cored, and chopped (save some for garnish)

5 Snickers candy bars, cut into bite size pieces (save one for garnish)

1 (3.9 oz.) box French Vanilla instant Jell-O pudding mix

1/2 cup whole milk

8 oz. container Cool Whip, completely thawed if previously frozen

1/2 cup to 1 cup mini marshmallows (optional)

caramel sauce for drizzling over top (optional)

Whisk pudding mix and milk in a medium mixing bowl until smooth. Fold in Cool Whip until evenly combined. Fold in most of the apple chunks, all but one of the candy bars, and marshmallows (if using.) Mix well. Garnish top of salad with the remaining apple chunks and candy bar. Drizzle caramel sauce over top (if using.) Serve immediately, or cover and serve within 8 hours.

Enjoy!
