stacked heirloom caprese with prosciutto

we just enjoyed these delicious, stacked caprese salads with green and red zebra heirloom tomatoes. we strolled up to the red wing farmer’s market at the depot yesterday and picked up a bunch of beautiful, fresh produce… I have more tomatoes than I know what to do with (again)…which is a good problem to have!

for the salad:

stack…

thick-sliced heirloom tomatoes (your favorite variety)

thick-sliced proscuitto & fresh mozzarella roll

fresh basil

coarse sea salt

 a sprinkle of freshly ground black pepper

 a generous drizzle of unfiltered extra virgin olive oil

serve with your favorite Italian bread for dipping and a good glass of wine!
