california travel journal ~ day seven

The last day of our vacation was upon us…it arrived too soon, but we made the most of it.

Breakfast at The Ocean View Cafe, shopping in Manhattan Beach and ice cream at the Manhattan Beach Creamery. Here are some scenes from our day. Enjoy.

  1. I was beat to the punch on the shoe/chocolate store comment. I know some people who would stake their claim and never leave! Is that the Red Velvet ice cream you were talking about? I really really want to try that, and I’m not a big ice cream fan. It just sounds so evilly delicious.

    1. yes! Red Velvet ice cream on bottom, nutella ice cream on top. It was so good. They make their ice cream fresh every day. I know, I love those chairs too…and the little marble-top tables. 🙂

  2. OMG – Shoes AND Chocolate???!!!!! Seriously!!! I want to enlarge & frame that photo for display!!! HEAVENLY!!! It’s only second best to the beach shots!! Awwwwwwwwww, I can feel myself slipping away………

    1. When we saw this place I immediately said to J, “We HAVE to take a picture of this place for Kimber!” Hee hee… XO 😉

  3. nutella ice cream??? OH YUM!!!! methinks there is something similar in my future! i have hazelnuts in the freezer, and cocoa powder in the pantry. add almond milk and i think i may have it!!! what a great idea!

    1. ooh! let me know how that turns out. Maybe we could post a ‘vegan-friendly’ ice cream recipe here on the bloggy 🙂

  4. No surprise here that I have to mention that the combination shoe and gourmet chocolate store is pure evil genius! Awesome pictures! Looks like you had a great day, despite it being the last day of vacation, and there’s always that sense of urgency to fit as much as sightseeing as you can into the short time left. I don’t know if that was your intention or not, but I got that feeling from the way you wrote this post without comments on the individual pictures. It really made me feel like that last day. Excellent. And, if you didn’t intend that, well, that’s what I got from it. 🙂 Once again, you made me feel as close to being there as possible.

  5. Awwww, I can’t believe you thought of me on your vacation!! That’s so sweet!! Dare I ask the prices of some of those shoes??? Not sure I want to know! LOL

    1. um….these were the crazy priced shoes…I don’t think you could have left with a pair for less than $200. 😉
