These bars are super simple to make, so delicious, and they taste exactly like pecan pie! I love how easy they are to transport to potlucks, family gatherings, and picnics. You’re going to love the “shortcut” way of making pecan pie bars! So good!

~ preheat oven to 350 degrees F. ~

16 oz. box dry yellow or white cake mix

1/3 cup real butter, melted

2 large eggs, divided

14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk

1 and 1/2 cups pecans (save some for top)

8 oz. package toffee baking bits (such as Heath)

1/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt

Combine cake mix, butter, and one egg in a mixing bowl. Mix until uniform crumbs form. Using hands, pat into a 9×13 baking pan.

In a separate bowl, combine, the sweetened condensed milk, and remaining egg. Stir until well blended. Stir in most of the pecans and all of the toffee bits. Spread over crust. Place the rest of the whole pecans on the top so the pecans look even. Sprinkle the salt evenly over bars. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden around the edges. Cool completely, in the pan, before cutting into bars and serving.

Yield: 16 bars
