This is an easy way to make yummy cheeseburgers any day of the week! No skillet or grill needed. Just mix up the meat ingredients, pat them out flat on a baking sheet, sprinkle with cheese, roll-up, and bake. Everyone loves these. Great for weeknight dinners or as a casual company dish!

Once the roll-up is done baking, just slice off pieces and serve on buns as you would cheeseburgers.

serves 8:

~ preheat oven to 350 degrees F. ~

2 lb to 2 and 1/2 lb extra lean ground beef

1 hamburger bun, torn into small pieces

1/2 cup onion, minced

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon seasoned salt

1 and 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

12 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese

8 hamburger buns

your favorite burger condiments

In a large bowl, combine: ground beef, torn burger bun, eggs, seasoned salt, and pepper. Mix well. Pat out onto a large, lightly greased (or Silpat-lined) baking sheet so you have an 18×14 inch rectangle, making sure there aren’t any holes. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the meat, leaving a 3/4 inch border around edges. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting at a short end. Press ends to seal securely so cheese doesn’t escape while baking.

Bake at 350 degrees F. for 60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F. according to a meat thermometer. Once done, cover loosely with foil and allow to rest for 15 minutes. Before slicing, remove from Silpat mat to a cutting board.

Slice and serve on buns with your favorite burger condiments, such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, pickles, onions, lettuce, bacon…

Enjoy!
