Earth & Sky Wine Bottle Carrier

I love atmosphere blue and deep, chocolate brown as a color combination. I decided to crochet this wine bottle carrier for some friends of mine in these colors. If you like giving wine gifts for the holidays or birthdays or any other special occasion, and you’d like to make some of these…here’s THE PATTERN I adapted mine from. I changed it up a little, and added a top edge border that I thought looked pretty spiffy around the handle as well. I also made mine bigger so it could accommodate a larger bottle of wine or a bottle of champagne.  The Lion Brand Yarn website is a fantastic resource for free knitting and crocheting patterns! Enjoy browsing!

  1. OMG that is so awesome!! I’m seeing so many fun knitting project by you and my other friends, that I’m considering switching hobbies. LOL

  2. Thanks Kimber! If you don’t know how to knit and/or crochet, and you’d like to learn…I’d love to teach you! 🙂

  3. Sandy, I am so glad you asked me this. No, I didn’t. The directions didn’t specify to do this. I have never made one before, and was wondering how to not stretch the handle when carrying the bottle. What would you use for a liner? Do tell 🙂

  4. Well a matching color or a clear plastic pail from a card or from the Dollar Tree could be used. They are sold by the decorating for weddings and anniversary areas. I received a carrier like your carrier as a gift a few years ago and the gal had used an actual cottage cheese carton and with the colored strips of the glitz that looks like tinsel no one even knew what the container was…

  5. oh…okay! I may have something I could use already. Does it have to go all the way to the top edge, or just something to give the bottom support?

  6. Love, love LOVE this! You are turning into the crochet/knitting QUEEN! I am afraid I am going to have to kidnap you and haul you out here to teach me the ways 🙂

  7. Oh my gosh…Robin. There you are! I was having tiny little withdrawals 😉

I will happily teach you the ways! Please kidnap me! LOL…Seriously tho…if you want to learn basic crochet, look up “single crochet” on youtube. That’s how I learned! You tube is a great resource for learning how to crochet and knit…and I’m still referring to it for the harder stitches.
