Who wouldn’t love to start their day with an oatmeal cookie for breakfast? This delicious smoothie includes all the flavors of the delicious cookie, but it’s healthier and includes much needed protein to get your day started out right. This delicious shake-like smoothie kept me full until lunch time and absolutely satisfied my sweet tooth.

for one smoothie:

1/2 cup old fashioned, rolled oats

1 frozen banana, peeled and cut into chunks

3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1/4 cup plain greek yogurt

1/4 cup raisins

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon dried ginger

pinch of nutmeg

pinch of salt

honey, to taste

small dollop of sweetened whipped cream (optional)

Place oats in the bowl of a blender. Pulse until oats turn to powder. Add the banana, almond milk, yogurt, raisins, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt to blender and pulse until smooth and frothy. Taste. If smoothie isn’t sweet enough for you, add honey until it reaches desired sweetness. Pulse again until smooth. Pour into a tall glass. Add a dollop of whipped cream (if using) and garnish with a sprinkle of oats and cinnamon.
