scenes from the past couple weeks

pink peonies popping open… fragrant herbs reaching for the sun… flowers budding and blooming… strawberries and sugar simmering on the stove… jars clinking happily in the canner while the water boils and seals the jam in ~ like little time capsules that will release their bounty when snow is on the ground and we’re all longing for a bit of summer… a spontaneous lunch date and antiquing trip with a friend… boats in the harbor… ducks lazily paddling and softly quacking to each other… sweet reminders from a consolidation of favorite childhood books (thanks, Nancy! 😉 ) … making lemon curd for frozen yogurt…
