date night ~ bicycles, wine and stromboli

Date night was awesome this week! We took our bikes out on the path in Baypoint Park,

a beautiful, shady park nestled next to the Mississippi River.

We sat on one of the many bench swings…

watched the boats traveling by…

and went to dinner at Liberty’s Restaurant.

There are a few things Liberty’s does well…

pizza.

broasted chicken.

and stromboli.

They have a pretty good (albeit short) wine list too…

I had a glass of the Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio (Italy)

“This wine has a clear, straw yellow color, with light golden reflections. A low concentration of surmaturo grapes gives the wine tropical fruit notes that make this unique vintage truly exotic, with apple and pineapple aromas and flavors. The wine is light bodied, with a pleasantly soft palate and a long finish.” ~winemaker’s tasting notes

and a glass of the Bridgeview “Blue Moon” Riesling (Oregon)

“Flavors of ripe apples, apricot nectar, and grapefruit with aromas of honeysuckle. Well balanced, lively and crisp with refreshing acidity on the finish. ~winemaker’s notes

What did you do for date night this week?

    1. Thanks, Maria. We have lots of fun. Sometimes we have a long date day, and other times we keep it simple and just go out for a cocktail and appetizer. 🙂

    1. Thanks Jana! We had a great time. Hopefully you and I will be able to go out on the trails before the snow flies 🙂

  2. Love this!! I already posted on the FB site, so you know I spent date night at the Twins Game. I wish I had a camera to capture the feel of the game, the crowds, the weather and the atmosphere of walking downtown. I LOVE Mpls, more as I get older which is kinda wierd. I avoided it as a youth, too big & scary, but now I absolutely love being down there with the diversity and the noise and chaos… FUN!!!

    1. I can’t wait to see a game at Target Field! Sounds like a great night 🙂 I love Minneapolis too. If you haven’t yet…catch a play at the Guthrie and have dinner at Sea Change…stay at The Grand Hotel and have drinks at 615 🙂
