we stand in a gazebo of

me on tiptoe

gazing into a crystal clear pond

the speckled gold goddesses

dancing among waterlilies

beneath the shade of green lily pads

they are the symbol of perseverance in adversity

courageous souls

climbing Dragon Gate

aspire

advance

be brave

undistracted

undeterred

humbly, I see myself

as I look into her eye

she’s flame red

the mother

and for a moment

we’re one.
