Popovers

Last night while Jeff grilled steaks, I baked a butternut squash, mixed it with a little butter and maple syrup… and made popovers. They’re a fun alternative to dinner rolls, and surprisingly low in fat. I used this vintage cookbook…

with this recipe…

mmmmm….popovers!

Enjoy!

ps… for breakfast

these are delicious stuffed with

This Denver Egg Scramble:

a few scrambled eggs…

mixed with chopped ham

cheddar cheese

fresh onion, chopped

fresh green pepper, chopped

salt and pepper

XO,

~Melissa

  1. Popovers are one of the first things I ever learned to make on my own!! Believe it was in Home Ec class at Central Middle School, back in the day!!! Haven’t made them in years now…

  2. I remember Central Jr. High’s home-ec…and something about killing the yeast when I tried to make crescent rolls. I use to be a horrible cook 😉
