monte cristo bombs
Delicious monte cristos in a biscuit bomb! Top with powdered sugar and strawberry butter or enjoy them plain. We like these as an addition to a breakfast or brunch. So good and so easy to make!
~ preheat oven to 350 degrees F. ~
serves 8
1 tube Pillsbury Grands biscuits (8 big biscuits)
6 thin slices smoked turkey, quartered
6 thin slices smoked ham, quartered
6 to 8 oz. shredded Swiss or Monterey Jack cheese
1 egg + 2 Tablespoons water
powdered sugar
4 Tablespoons butter, softened
3 Tablespoons strawberry jam
Roll out biscuits on lightly floured surface. Fill with some cheese, turkey, ham, and a bit more cheese. Seal and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, sealed side down. Whisk egg and water together. Brush the bombs with some of the egg wash. Bake at 350 for 13 to 16 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Whip butter and jam together. Split bombs and top with a little of the strawberry butter (or a lot!) 🙂
Enjoy!

Im wondering if you can put the strawbeeet preserves/jam on the inside and then bake?
I’ve never tried that 🙂
I bet that would work OK as long as the dough was sealed well so it didn’t leak out.
