Relaxing Ritual~Back Yard Campfire
“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.” ~George Eliot
Last night we grilled steaks and hung out in the back yard around a little campfire. Enjoying the crisp fall air under a canopy of stars while watching a campfire is one of my favorite relaxing rituals this time of year. We have fires all summer too, but there’s just something about this time of year. Maybe it’s because the nights are getting chilly and a warm fire is just that much more comforting. What ever it is, i highly recommend heading out to your neighborhood home and building center and purchasing a little fire pit. Ours is getting old, but it still works just fine. The next one we purchase is going to be one of the ‘table’ style ones, and a little bigger.
What are your favorite relaxing rituals for autumn?

I really love fires too, and found a brand new portable pit at a garage sale this summer!! We plan to use it in the driveway while passing out candy on Halloween!! My autumn “rituals” usually mean bringing out the candles. I tend to not burn them during the summer but come fall I bring them all out and organize them throughout the house. The benefit of the cooler nights and shorter days is I can start lighting them after work while making dinner, and it’s calming after my crazy days!
I agree. there is nothing quite like the relaxing glow of candle light. It’s power to soothe is amazing.
