Relaxing Rituals

“Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths.”  ~Etty Hillesum

Last night, after everyone else was in bed, I lit a candle and played an Edith Piaf CD while I read my new “Food & Wine” magazine and sipped my favorite chamomile lavender tea. (Have you ever tried Harney’s Yellow & Blue tea? It’s really good!) As the cares of the day melted away I thought it would be a good idea to take a snapshot of the moment and share it with you. What could be more important than sharing a message of relaxation? We all need it. My hope is to share a relaxing ritual with you at least once a week and that you will share your ideas with me. I’m always looking for new ways to unwind.

What are your favorite relaxing rituals?

~Melissa

  1. Relaxation? What’s that? LOL I guess playing games on the computer while I catch up DVR is relaxing at night, at least it’s the closest I get usually.

  2. I’m always interested in hearing what other people do to relax. My first two books were written with relaxation as the central theme. Watching my favorite television shows on DVD is absolutely one of my favorite passtimes, and an effective mode of relaxation as well. Life is capricious, and it’s little nagging stressors can build up in our systems and become toxic. Taking time to relax is not only wonderfully restful, it’s a good way to stay out of the doctor’s office 😉
