One of my favorite ways to relax, after all of the cleaning and cooking and general household stuff is done…and after I’ve made sure to get a workout in, is watching my favorite TV shows on DVD. This is usually what I’m doing when I work on my knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, red work, and even illustration work. I like to watch movies too, but my absolute favorite are the engrossing television shows available on DVD, such as:

1) Grey’s Anatomy

2) LOST

3) How I Met Your Mother

4) Heroes

5) Sex and the City

Books on CD-

As I’ve said in previous posts, I’m an avid reader. On average, I read about a book a week. Besides reading hard copies of books, I also like to listen to books on CD. Most of the illustrations in the two books I wrote were created as I listened to piles of books on CD while sipping iced tea on my front porch (and in the colder months, at my art table in my study.) I’ve found that listening to books on CD is a great way to pass the time while I’m cleaning and cooking too. Jeff likes to listen to books on CD on his commute to and from Minneapolis every day. It’s a great way to get some “reading” in if you just can’t find the time to sit down with book, and it’s a nice way to keep your mind busy while doing mundane tasks.

I lost a reader today. She actually found fault with my happy little blog. Imagine that! It’s written by a human. I wasn’t going to bother saying anything, but after deleting the entire blog, I wondered why I did so. We aren’t all going to agree on everything all the time. The blog was about something other than knitting and food. I guess real, heartfelt subjects are just too much for some people.

I am the author of two books, “Chin Deep in Bubbles- Little Luxuries for Every Day,” which was published in 2001, and “Welcome Home – Tips For Turning Your Home Into a Luxurious Retreat,” which was published in 2004. Both books were published by a wonderful publishing house on the east coast called “Fair Winds Press.” Writing these books was an adventure. I learned so much from this experience and had a lot of fun along the way.

The purpose of this blog is to share inspirational ideas. My desire is to create a place where you can find useful health tips, great recipes, frugal spa recipes for your bath time, and many other simple pleasures that will enrich your life.

The weekly blog schedule will be changing! I’ll keep you posted. I will still be writing posts that will fit within the categories you’re use to reading, just not necessarily on their designated days. I have also added a new category, “Inspire!” that will feature crafts and recipes that wouldn’t be considered “spa” fare. Enjoy!
