scenes from lunch at The Angry Trout Cafe

After a couple days relaxing at the resort, swimming in the pool and hot tub, reading and gazing out at the lake, we were ready for some adventure. We decided to head up the shore a bit. We stopped in Tofte for breakfast at the always delicious Coho Cafe. We got there a little too late and ended up having lunch fare for breakfast, but I’m glad that happened because we got to try some new menu items. I’m a creature of habit and was all ready to order my usual, Granola Pancakes or Apple Walnut French Toast with Wild Rice Sausage (you can see them HERE and HERE in previous posts I wrote about Coho Cafe) … but this time I had the Call of the Wild  pizza. Jeff had the turkey club, and Grace had the Margherita Pizza. Everything was so good!

After our little “lunch for brekky” we traveled further north to one of our favorite north shore destinations, Grand Marais. (See another post from a previous visit HERE .) We walked out to the light house on Artist’s Point, took some photos, watched some kayakers, enjoyed the mist and waves, and Gracie built a rock stack sculpture. After some shopping and walking around downtown… we were ready for lunch at our favorite,  The Angry Trout Cafe. We always have the fish & chips (see a previous post HERE), and I can’t resist their beautiful salad and homemade dressings. SO good and so fresh. The outdoor patio is situated over the water and makes this place such a lovely, relaxing spot to watch the ducks and enjoy a sunny summer meal. I love it there, and I can’t wait to return.

XO,

~Melissa
