thrift store score… ~ and a little note on “dressing our home” for summer

The always lovely blue and white…just in time for summer! Do you “dress” your house for summer? We put white slipcovers on our furniture when the mercury begins to rise and we dress the windows in blue and white ticking. The general warm weather palette is always blue and white…a tradition inspired by Victoria Magazine’s “Love Affair with Blue & White” summer issue back in 1999 when we bought our little Victorian cottage. I talk about this “Victoria Magazine Dream” in more depth in THIS post. This year we’re taking it a step further by beginning the “shabby chic” remodel in our home. So excited to repaint everything all white and beachy! A dream come true! What are your favorite summer colors?

I love glass candle holders the color of beach glass

shell pink napkins and a couple vintage cookie cutters

a picnic basket for two! the perfect size for a couple single serving wine bottles and cucumber sammys…

…and a Gladys Taber book for 25 cents. just sitting there on the shelf, waiting for me.

Kismet.

What treasures have you found while thrifting/antiquing?

please share your finds here.
