“The wines that one best remembers are not necessarily the finest that one has ever tasted, and the highest quality may fail to delight so much as some far more humble beverage drunk in more favorable surroundings.” ~H. Warner Allen

We enjoyed this wine with picnic fare. Crusty, buttery baguette, artisan cheeses (Manchego, sharp white cheddar, gruyere, and triple cream brie,) grapes, berries, prosciutto wrapped melon, a variety of olives, stuffed grape leaves and cold rotisserie chicken. It was wonderful!

This weekend we’ll be packing the picnic backpack with similar foods and another bottle of this and taking it along with us on the Cannon Valley Trail. There are several beautiful sites along the river where we can stop and enjoy a picnic. According to the forecast, it looks like it’s going to be the perfect weekend for a bike ride. Do you have any fun plans this weekend?

Have you enjoyed a wine picnic yet this summer?
